BUSINESS 01 · MYCELIUM MAT

We grow the mat
where textiles begin

We focus on cultivation: uniform greige mycelium mats, supplied to partners who handle plasticizing, dyeing and coating.

WHAT WE SUPPLY

Well-grown mats,
ready for finishing

A mycelium mat is a soft sheet formed as hyphae grow densely at the surface. The quality of the final textile depends on how uniform this greige mat is.

Mycogen handles everything up to finishing: substrate prep, inoculation, mat growth, harvest and inactivation, drying and inspection.

  • Cultivation only — finishing is done by partners
  • Thickness, density and size agreed per order
  • Batch cultivation records provided

Mycelium fabric

Add finishing such as embossing and dyeing to a mycelium mat and it becomes a leather-like mycelium textile. Mycogen grows the greige mat that this starts from and supplies it to finishing partners.
